Jenny McCarthy decided to keep her breast implants despite her battle with mold poisoning.
The 54-year-old discussed her decision with her plastic surgeon, Dr. Terry Dubrow, on “The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show.” McCarthy has reportedly undergone several breast procedures over the years.
Jenny McCarthy came into the spotlight as a Playboy model before she moved into television and acting. She later became known for her appearances on “The View” and her role as a judge on “The Masked Singer.” The entertainer went through nine surgeries in a year.
Jenny McCarthy Is Not Ready For A Life Without Breast Implants
McCarthy said that her decision to keep her breast implants seems inconsistent. “You know I’m toxic-phobic; a lot of people make fun of me like, ‘Oh, but you’ve got implants,’” she said. She made the admission while speaking with her plastic surgeon on her podcast.
The actress explained that she might eventually decide to live without breast implants. However, she is not ready to make that decision at this stage of her life. She said she might feel differently when she becomes an older woman.
McCarthy also explained that her implants help her maintain the appearance she wants in certain outfits. She revealed that she had already gone considerably smaller than her previous size. She also joked that she was not ready for what she called “zucchini titties.”
The actress now has Motiva breast implants, which received FDA approval in 2024. They are designed to offer softer movement than traditional silicone implants.
During the discussion on “The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show,” Dubrow said he did not believe her implants caused her mold poisoning. The actress’ implants showed no signs of mold when removed.
The Actress’ First Breast Augmentation Was Bigger Than Requested
McCarthy also recalled getting her first breast implants when she was around 19 or 20. She said that women in her neighborhood were getting breast augmentations from a doctor in Arizona. The procedures reportedly cost $1,500, and she decided to get on a plane for hers.
She admitted that she did not fully understand how the surgery would be performed. McCarthy shared that she realized she was not placed under general anesthesia and was awake during the procedure. She also said the implants were placed on top of the muscle.
The actress’ result from the surgery was not what she had requested. “I woke up from that surgery, and I’m only telling you this part of the story because so many women can relate,” she recalled. She also said that she complained about receiving implants that were much bigger than what she wanted.
According to McCarthy’s account, the surgeon admitted he had deliberately chosen a larger size. He reportedly believed patients would eventually want bigger implants and wanted to avoid another procedure. The Daily Mail reported that she said thousands of women later shared similar experiences, and a lot of them eventually underwent reductions.
Jenny McCarthy Faced A Health Scare That Made Her Antibiotic Resistant
McCarthy revealed that she had health problems that led to repeated infections and surgeries. During her appearance on Maria Menounos’ “Heal Squad” podcast, she remembered experiencing six months of what she called a “living hell.” She shared that the problems appeared to be connected to an infected root canal at first.
The Playboy model said that the root canal was not completely cleaned out. The infection later developed into a jawbone infection, with three toxic pockets underneath her wisdom teeth. She also developed painful growths on her eyes that were surgically removed.
The growths returned four weeks after surgery, which left her in a painful cycle of “oozing infection” in her eyes and mouth infections. Her doctor eventually discovered that the recurring infection was caused by mold. McCarthy recalled being told, “You have mycotoxin poisoning.”
The Blast shared that she had a mold that causes seizures. She revealed that her infections kept returning despite treatment because, “I became antibiotic-resistant last year.”

The Model Had Nine Surgeries In One Year
McCarthy previously opened up about her recurring dental problems in November 2025. During an interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that she had nine surgeries on her mouth that year. She said that one infection had led to another.
She reportedly had a failed ceramic dental implant and then noticed her teeth kept falling out. The doctors discovered a deep bone infection in her jawbone. She was then prescribed antibiotics, but the infection kept recurring.
The actress also developed growths on her eyeballs while dealing with the dental problems. She said that even after doctors thought the infections had cleared, her jaw would swell during painful relapses. After nine months of surgeries and a year of antibiotics, she was finally able to chew again.
She shared an August 27 Instagram video after her root cavitation surgery. McCarthy said that she had no memory of filming the clip because she was still affected by anesthesia. She also struggled to form sentences, as reported by The Blast.

McCarthy talked about how her health problems have become so overwhelming that she moved into a tent. She explained that she developed medical fatigue after dealing with multiple symptoms and treatments. “Because I’m paranoid, I live in a tent,” she said on her podcast.
The actress said that her food allergies became so severe that she struggled to eat anything. She also revealed experiencing hives, rashes, facial swelling, and severe under-eye puffiness. She said that “you really have no idea what it took to figure out what the hell was happening with my body.”
McCarthy revealed her ordeal started in October 2024, when she woke up with an unusual toothache. She said that the pain led to hospital visits, dental procedures, and repeated infections.
She later discovered that mold and mycotoxin poisoning were the major reasons behind her health issues. The Blast noted that her doctor diagnosed the mold poisoning in December 2025. McCarthy shared that she was in her seventh month of detox and remained uncomfortable sleeping elsewhere.
