Let laughter empty me.
Let me have my toothsome sleep.
Let the ordinary be its own benediction.
We’ve worked for weeks
to the drumbeat of vague but important ideas,
the future a lava-lamp, mesmerizing to look at
but not enough to read by.
Let me sleep.
