The figure was reportedly 74 years of age at the time of their death. This also comes out months after losing their spouse, which was just as tragic.

Andy Friendly is the son of famed CBS newsman Fred Friendly. Reportedly, he was born the same week his father and Edward R. Murrow launched See It Now on CBS in 1951.
In his own professional life, Andy previously served as Entertainment Tonight‘s first producer. He also worked as a programming executive for CNBC and King World.
In addition, Andy was the president of the Hollywood Radio & Television Society. He also served as an adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Andy Friendly’s Wife Had Also Passed Away September 2025
Andy recently died at his home in Bel-Air. His death had been announced by his brother, David Friendly, a journalist-turned-producer. At this time, no cause of death has been shared.
This news comes out four months after the death of Andy’s wife, Patricia Crowley. She passed away in September at the age of 91, after thirty-nine years of marriage. Many knew Crowley for the NBC series, Please Don’t Eat the Daisies. She was also known for the films Forever Female and Money from Home.

Andy made everyone feel valued, and his unique kindness and integrity will be remembered, just as powerfully as his creative legacy.”
