<em>Falling</em> by artist Betty Shanefelter is one of the works in <em>The Teen Experience</em>, a show at the American University Museum in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary American Teenagers in Washington, D.C., until August 10.

“What is it like to be a teen right now?” Young artists explored that question for two different exhibitions of their work this summer. But on the National Mall, their work was deemed too political.
