During his December 13 Saturday Night Live monologue, Host Josh O’Connor joked, “I know I have a reputation for being what the Internet calls a ‘soft boy.'” Connor’s alt-masculine appeal reached full fruition in his episode’s “Bachelorette Party Strippers” sketch, in which he and Featured Player Ben Marshall played the two “the most sensitive male strippers in all the Catskills.” They certainly might be the only exotic dancers who roll up with a tote bag and a dog-eared novel.
At first, the bride-to-be (Ashley Padilla) isn’t thrilled that her pal hired entertainment, when she wants “something chill with my girlies.” But her friend (Sarah Sherman) assures her they’re “a different kind of stripper.”

Josh O’Connor and Ben Marshall strip down to their second cardigan and jeans on SNL
“Bachelorette Party Strippers” was written by Ben Marshall and Jack Bensinger, and Marshall certainly sells the sketch as one half of the beanie-clad duo. “Do we have consent to enter your home?” he asks, before O’Connor’s character looks into the bride’s eyes to assure her, “you are enough.”
“Before we get started, mind if I finish my book?” Remington (or is it Auggie?) asks, holding up a copy of Hanya Yanagihara’s A Little Life. “It was written by this brilliant woman of color.”
Finally, the boys get to work: Putting on a twinkly indie cover version of the Ginuwine song “Pony,” they glance at each other before ripping off their wool cardigans to reveal identical wool cardigans underneath.
“You know, I think the president should be Cynthia Erivo,” O’Connor’s stripper tells the bride, who coos that he’s “perfect.” Then Marshall’s character lifts up his shirt to reveal a Zohran Mamdani tattoo to mixed reviews (but not from the SNL audience, who loves it).

Their “dancing” and lap-dances also aren’t for everyone, and one of the strippers bursts into tears because he”got overstimulated.” Still, there’s no denying the two make for a very cozy experience.

Ben Marshall joined the Saturday Night Live cast in Season 51
Before becoming one of five new Featured Players in 2025, Ben Marshall was best known for being one third of comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy. Joining the show as writers, the group contributed videos starting with Season 47’s “Hard Seltzer” until the end of Season 50. While member John Higgins departed the show, Marshall joined the cast and Martin Herlihy remained on as a writer.
While Please Don’t Destroy remains active onstage and online, you can catch Marshall on SNL every week, and he still heavily contributes as a writer behind the scenes.
“I love these boys so much. I couldn’t be more grateful to have gotten into this business with my two best friends. Getting to write for SNL together and make our own videos for the show was beyond our wildest dreams and I’m so proud of everything we’ve made so far,” Marshall wrote on Instagram in September 2025, after news of his casting broke. “This is a new chapter, but we’re not going to stop working together anytime soon. Thanks to anyone who has watched our videos, watched our movie, or seen us on tour. It means the world. PDD 4 ever.”
