Taco Bell Gives Baja Blast Its First Pink Makeover

The Olivia Rodrigo-inspired Baja Blast is finally here.

The singer partnered with Taco Bell to create “You Seem Pretty Pink For a Baja Blast,” a first-of-its-kind pink variation of Mountain Dew’s iconic beverage.

The drink combines Baja Blast’s signature tropical lime flavor with pink lemonade. Its playful name and custom packaging draw inspiration from Rodrigo’s latest album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love.”

The drink debuted alongside her Daisy Chain Fields Festival, giving fans an opportunity to try it for themselves.

Rodrigo’s love for Baja Blast inspired her own Taco Bell creation.

The singer had been a Baja Blast loyalist for years and described it as one of her favorite drinks.

In one interview, she even pictured fans listening to her album in their cars while drinking one. Taco Bell said the pink lemonade in her version was inspired by her favorite flavors and colors.

Ahead of its debut, Rodrigo shared her excitement. “One of my favorite drinks ever is a MOUNTAIN DEW Baja Blast, so I genuinely cannot believe ‘You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast’ is real,” she said.

“I’m so excited for everyone to try it at Daisy Chain Fields and at Live Más Café in just a few days!”

Beyond the collaboration itself, the beverage’s playful name and custom “Pretty Pink” packaging were designed to channel Olivia Rodrigo’s new musical era.

The singer explained that making the Baja Blast pink “felt like a natural choice” and reflected the colorful evolution of her discography.

“My [new] album cover obviously has pink on it, and I’ve transitioned from using a lot of purple from the ‘Sour’ and ‘Guts’ eras, and I also do really love pink lemonade,” she said. “It’s been fun to do something totally different for this album and this collaboration with Taco Bell.”

The partnership also extended beyond the drink itself, with limited-edition merchandise that drew from Rodrigo’s current aesthetic.

Taco Bell officially brought Rodrigo’s pink Baja Blast to participating restaurants across the U.S. on Thursday, September 24.

Before the nationwide rollout, fans got an early taste at the UCI Live Más Café in Irvine, California, on August 28, where the chain hosted a Rodrigo-themed takeover.

The drink then made its official public debut on August 29 at Live Más Café locations across Southern California, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Houston.

The date lined up with the launch of Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields, an all-women music festival in Irvine, where festivalgoers could also try the drink through a Taco Bell activation.

What Did Taco Bell’s Pink Baja Blast Taste Like

Early reviews of “You Seem Pretty Pink For a Baja Blast” focused largely on its sweet-and-tangy combination.

Taco Bell described it as a blend of Baja Blast’s signature tropical lime flavor with a refreshing pink lemonade twist.

Tasting Table described the drink as bright and vibrant, with Baja Blast’s zesty lime remaining noticeable while the pink lemonade added balance.

The reviewer said, “I especially love how fizzy the drink is — and how well it holds onto that carbonation long after ordering. The drink’s color is a pale blush pink, which surprised me a little, since I expected something closer to a bright pink. But the softer hue is actually fitting, and it certainly doesn’t take away from the deliciousness.”

An Instagram reviewer also said, “You can definitely taste the Baja Blast, but then you got like a mixture of, like, pink lemonade there at the bottom.”
