
On Wednesday, Kelly Clarkson postponed the remainder of her Las Vegas residency after revealing her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, was sick. The following day, People reported that Blackstock had died after battling cancer.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” Clarkson wrote in a statement shared to Instagram on Wednesday.
Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020 after seven years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in 2022. They share two children: River, 11, and Remington, 9.
In her Wednesday announcement, Clarkson thanked fans for their support. “I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,” she said.
