Days of Our Lives puts EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Dante Vitali (Franco LoPresti) going toe-to-toe this week. And it looks like Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney)’s fiancé is going to lie right to EJ’s face. And Dante may actually be provoking EJ to get a rise out of him on behalf of his best friend, Dominic Marino. Let’s talk about the confrontation between EJ and Dante.
Days of Our Lives: Sami’s History and Engagement
So EJ was just as surprised as Sami’s other ex-husbands, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), to hear that she was engaged. If you remember, Sami announced her engagement to Dante Vitali in November 2025, so almost a year ago.
Fun little fact: the hunky Italian finance guy is going to be Sami Brady’s sixth marriage so far on Days of Our Lives. She married Austin Reed and Brandon Walker in the late ’90s and then early 2000s. Sami’s marriage to Lucas didn’t last long. Then she married EJ in 2007. And then next, Sami married Rafe in 2010, before Sami circled back and remarried EJ in 2014. She and EJ got divorced in 2022, and they share two adult children, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Sydney DiMera (Sidney Malakeh).
And of course, Sami almost remarried Lucas, but then that whole pesky fact that he kidnapped her came out. So, that was a non-starter wedding. So, a lot of fans thought Sami announced her engagement to Dante to make her ex-husbands jealous.
DOOL: Dominic’s Influence on Dante
But according to Sydney, who knows Dante best of anybody, her mother Sami is madly in love with Dante now. But Sydney also told EJ that Sami will always love him, which makes sense, because EJ and Sami have kids together. He’s her longest romance. But with Dante’s close ties to Dominic, that’s cause for concern. EJ’s on high alert about Dominic. He just found out he might be his brother, and that Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) might be his parents.
So, this week on Days of Our Lives, Dante meets his future in-laws, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Marlena. And she may have some questions for Dante, because Sydney told Marlena that Dante and Dominic were roommates back in their boarding school days. So, Marlena may casually dig into Dante’s background and ask him about his school days.
Days of Our Lives: EJ’s Investigation
So, we also are going to see Dante getting a stern warning from EJ this week. He’s going to tell Dante he’d better not hurt Sami. But EJ’s also fishing for information from Dante. In this week’s Days of Our Lives promo, EJ’s asking for their names. And Dante tells him, “Afraid not.” And then EJ calls him a liar. So, I’m wondering if he’s asking Dante about Dominic’s parents.
As of now, as far as we’ve seen, EJ doesn’t know that Dante and Dominic have a tie together, but somebody else might fill in the blanks for EJ before he goes over to Dante’s hotel room. Or, you know, Dante might drop a clue to EJ to intentionally provoke him, because EJ is desperate to know whether this mysterious Dominic is his brother.
He knows Marlena has a copy of the birth certificate, so EJ was asking Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) to sneak a copy from Marlena any way she can. Cat doesn’t want to break Marlena’s trust, but she’s curious about Dominic, and she’s stringing EJ along. So, I expect Cat may talk to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) about it, or Cat may just be honest with Marlena and tell her what EJ asked her to do.
Dante’s Hidden Agenda on Days
So, right now, Dante’s the only one with a relationship with Dominic. We saw Dante reporting to Dominic about shutting down Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) so he didn’t win too much at the poker table in Monte Carlo. And Dante lied about how close he has remained to his boarding school buddy Dominic.
But I mean, come on. It cannot be a coincidence that Dante’s bestie is a secret DiMera, and he just so happens to wind up engaged to Sami, and he’s got Sydney working for him. I don’t know if Dante really loves Sami, or if the engagement is all part of Dante helping Dominic with his DiMera agenda.
Days of Our Lives: EJ’s Extremely Dangerous
EJ isn’t just a jealous ex-husband warning Sami’s new fiancée to treat her right. EJ is a dangerous control freak capable of just about anything. So, Dante should not take EJ’s threat lightly. I’m guessing he won’t. But Dante may think Dominic’s more dangerous. And once EJ finds out Dante and Dominic have been friends for decades, you know, EJ’s going to assume the worst. It would be nice to think Sami finally found this amazing, drama-free relationship with Dante, and that it’s mutual deep love, but that seems increasingly unlikely.
The Brewing Conflict on DOOL
When EJ learns about the boarding school friendship, I’m sure he’s going to assume Dante is playing with Sami’s emotions and using her. Sami is the perfect distraction, because if EJ’s worried about protecting Sami, then Dominic can strike EJ and blindside him while he’s focused on Sami. And of course, without hard evidence that she’s being used for some Dominic and Dante agenda, Sami will just think EJ’s acting like a jealous ex.
And I’m sure Dante will be all charm and smooth while he is talking with Roman and Marlena this week. But when he’s talking to EJ, I think we’re going to see Dante poking and prodding a bit. And I do wonder if he is in town laying the groundwork for Dominic’s arrival, which also has me wondering if Dante is in Salem for good, or if he’s going to leave again soon, either right after Dominic shows up or right before then.

Days of Our Lives: Dominic’s Impending Arrival
Our leaker, by the way, told us that Dominic could make his way to Salem right in time for his late sister Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford)’s celebration of life, which is set for November sweeps, which, by the way, kicks off at the end of next week, on October 29th. So Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) were just talking about plans for Lexie’s memorial, and Abe and Theo were saying they should hold it on or near Lexie’s birthday, which points to November 10th or thereabouts as the tentative date, right in the middle of sweeps.
And it makes sense that EJ’s brother would come to town in time for Lexie’s service, because, first, she’s also Dominic’s sister. Second, a whole bunch of the DiMera siblings should be there for the event. And since Lexie was close to Marlena, she’ll be there. So, it’s kind of the optimal time for Dominic to unveil himself to all the relevant players.
Days of Our Lives: Dominic’s Devious Plan
So, when they’re talking this week, I doubt that Dante is going to give EJ any real information when he confronts him. And since Dante is clearly Team Dominic, and he knows his best friend is coming for EJ, I’m sure Dante won’t say anything that would sabotage Dominic’s chance to take over as the DiMera heir apparent.
We know EJ always wants to have the upper hand, but lately his grasp is slipping. Without a doubt, Dante has reported back to Dominic that EJ lost the hospital and that Dominic snapped up the Kiriakis mansion before EJ could get it.
You know that already. And I suspect that is why Dominic backed out of the sale, because he knows the Kiriakis family can afford to keep the house, which means EJ won’t get it. So I think it might have been more about Dominic making sure Stefano’s other son wouldn’t get Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston)’s house, rather than Dominic actually wanting it for himself.
Dante may also tell Dominic about EJ’s messy Coriseal cover-up, too. So, I think Dante’s showdown with EJ should be good, and then Dominic’s showdown with EJ should be even better.
