Collin Gosselin has responded to his sister Hannah Gosselin’s recent statement about their family relationships, offering his perspective on the situation. The siblings have shared differing experiences of their family dynamic, and Collin’s latest remarks shed light on why he believes Hannah is in the crossfire of tensions between him and his mother, Kate Gosselin, whom he has accused of abuse.
Collin Gosselin Addresses Hannah’s Remark About Their Current Relationship

Collin Gosselin was on “The View” to promote his memoir “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood,” released on October 13. Amid the discussion with the hosts, Collin was asked what he thought of his sister Hannah’s recent statement.
In a TikTok Story that has since expired, Hannah said she wants to “take a step back” following the release of Collin’s memoir, sharing that she has not lived with their father, Jon Gosselin, in more than a year and has not spoken to her brother “in close to a year,” per The Blast.
Moreover, she offered a glimpse into the family dynamics, saying she has rekindled her relationships with her mother, Kate, and the rest of her siblings “for quite a few years now.”
Collin said families are “complicated,” and he also refuted Hannah’s claim, saying he has photos proving they have seen each other in the past year.
The Reality Star Accused His Mother Of Leveraging Finances And Family Ties

Collin and Hannah were the only two of eight siblings who chose to live with their father. The former has been estranged from Kate since 2016.
Regarding Hannah’s statement, Collin said it was “the words of my mother, especially the last part.” At the end of her post, Hannah said she will not be commenting on her experiences growing up with Collin and his behavior.
Collin went on to explain that Hannah is “caught in the middle” amid the family tensions and wants to maintain a relationship with all of them, adding that he, too, at one point, wanted his mother’s approval.
“I do believe my mother is either leveraging finances or Hannah’s relationship with our siblings,” he said.
- Collin alleged that Dr. Phil offered his parents $2 million to fake their marriage.
- He revealed the words her mother allegedly told him that caused their estrangement.
- Collin shared what it would take for him to forgive Kate Gosselin.
- He refuted his mother’s claims that he had mental health problems.
- TLC received backlash over heartbreaking footage from the Gosselins’ reality show.
Collin Said Hannah Corroborated Some Of His Claims
Collin also touched on the upcoming Netflix documentary film featuring him, Hannah, and their father, claiming that they have already shot some footage, in which Hannah “opened up about a lot of truths.”
He said his sister not only “corroborated” some of his claims about Kate, but she also shared “about the things she experienced at the hands of my mother.”
Collin said Hannah’s statement may be a form of “damage control,” as she wants to keep all her family relationships intact. He, however, stressed that he does not blame her sister, instead holding Kate responsible. “My mother placed guilt on her,” he alleged.
Collin Still Feels Bad For His Mother
Elsewhere in the interview, the 22-year-old confessed that he still feels bad whenever he sees his mother. “I shouldn’t feel bad for someone who does these things, but that’s called having a heart,” he said.
Collin has accused his mother of physical, emotional, and psychological abuse, detailing the alleged mistreatment in his memoir. Just before his 12th birthday, Kate sent him to a behavioral institution where he stayed for nearly two years until his father gained custody of him.
The former reality star has since become an advocate for children who experience abuse and exploitation in the media, using his own experiences to raise awareness.
Kate Gosselin Defends Herself Against Her Son’s Allegations

Kate Gosselin has addressed her son’s allegations mostly through comments and responses on social media discussing Collin’s claims.
She has repeatedly denied abusing her son, attributing Collin’s allegations to his struggles with mental illness. Regarding his placement in an institution, she maintained that it was “medically necessary” and intended to protect the family, citing what she described as her son’s unpredictable and violent behavior.
Jon has clapped back at his ex-wife’s remarks, insisting that Collin does not have a mental illness. He also said his son has undergone independent psychiatric evaluations that, according to him, disprove Kate’s claims.
