There has been a major shakeup at CBS, as they recently let one of their popular broadcasters go. What do we know about this situation, including what to expect amid this surprise change?

Network Shakeups Are A Part Of The Business

Particularly when it comes to major networks like CBS, no job is ever guaranteed. When you are dealing with famous faces as part of your roster, this also means that these faces come with bigger paychecks as well. Sometimes these firings come in light of public scandal, and other times, they come about due to various restructuring or cost-cutting methods.

Either way, high-profile gigs can be volatile at times, and they can go away as quickly as they come. Unfortunately for one famous broadcaster, they are currently having to swallow this hard pill.

Popular Broadcaster Let Go By CBS

Based on the latest updates making the rounds, the NFL on CBS will have an all-new look. It turns out, the network has chosen to completely move on from a three-time Pro Bowler. CBS recently revealed its game announcers for the 2025 regular season.

Popular names like Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Ian Eagle have been confirmed as key contributors. However, one popular name was missing. Tiki Barber was not on the list of broadcasters. Barber has been a game analyst for CBS since 2019. However, based on this recent reveal, he will no longer have this job with the network.

CBS has replaced Barber with Charles Davis. While this change is one that has many NFL fans scratching their heads, it’s clear that the network decided to move on from the former running back.

  • Ian Eagle, J.J. Watt, and Evan Washburn
  • Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, and Melanie Collins
  • Andrew Catalon, Charles Davis, Jason McCourty, and AJ Ross
  • Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta, and Aditi Kinkhabwala

This Won’t Be The Last Fans See Of Tiki Barber

Despite being let go by CBS, fans have not seen the last of Tiki Barber. It turns out, he will be joining John Schmeelk for game day broadcasts of Giants football.

Speaking of this new opportunity, Barber said, “I am really excited to be joining the Giants gameday radio broadcast team on WFAN. This organization has meant so much to me, professionally and personally. The Giants have a long history of legendary broadcasters and Wellington Mara always told them to call it like they see it because our fans know better. I look forward to providing analysis and insight that Giants fans appreciate.”

In addition to this, Tiki Barber will also continue hosting Evan & Tiki, weekdays on WFAN Radio.
