How does The Wall work?

Inspired by Plinko from The Price Is Right, The Wall is named after its giant central wall of pegs, with slots at the bottom containing various dollar amounts. Contestants compete in pairs and answer trivia questions. If a question is right, a green ball is dropped down the wall, and the contestants gain that amount of money. If the question is wrong, the ball is red, and the contestants lose that amount.

In the first round, contestants answer questions together. But one person is taken behind the wall to answer questions in isolation. Based on only the potential answers, their partner has to decide if they think the questions will be answered correctly, and make decisions about how many balls to drop.

The isolated partner also has the opportunity to sign a contract for a set amount of money that also forfeits the cash they’ve banked, in case they think the balls haven’t landed in their favor.

You truly never know what is going to happen when the balls start dropping, and contestants have walked away with anything from $0 to $1.7 million. It’s a ride worth going on, so mark your calendar now for January 5.
