How to Watch the 2026 U.S. Olympic Speed Skating Trials on NBC & Peacock

The 2026 Winter Olympics are just a few weeks from kicking off with an epic Opening Ceremony on NBC and Peacock — but before Team USA goes for the gold in the Milan Cortina Games, the U.S. speed skating team roster must be finalized.

And that’s where the 2026 U.S. Olympic Speed Skating Trials come into play.

On Friday, January 2, live coverage of the 2026 U.S. Olympic Speed Skating Trials begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on Peacock. World champion and world record holder Jordan Stolz will headline the competition. The young star has already punched his ticket on Team USA in Milan alongside his female counterpart Erin Jackson, but he won’t be resting ahead of the Olympics — Stolz is set to compete in every event.

Coverage from the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will focus extensively on the fan-favorite speed skater, as the 21-year-old phenom will effectively use the Trials as a warm-up for the intense competition he and the rest of Team USA will face in Milan this February.

“Watching Jordan Stolz develop has felt like I imagine it felt watching a young Michael Phelps,” says 2006 Torino Olympic 500m gold medalist Joey Cheek, who will be in the broadcast booth alongside NBC Sports’ Bill Spaulding. “He can win at multiple distances, under wildly varying conditions. When he’s at his worst, he still wins medals, and when he’s at his best, he’s unbeatable.”

In addition to Stolz and Jackson, speed skating stars such as Brittany Bowe and Beijing Olympic team pursuit bronze medalists Mia Manganello, Emery Lehman, Ethan Cepuran, and Casey Dawson are all scheduled to compete.

With the remaining spots on the Team USA roster still up for grabs, the drama will be off the charts with every race. On traditional television, fans can tune in to NBC to watch the event, depending on the day and time. (See below for the official schedule.) The event will also be streamed on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, and the NBC Sports app — in other words, you don’t have any excuse for missing even a second of exciting speed skating action!
