The OG is keeping his red seat warm. Just as The Voice: Battle of Champions comes to a close and another winner has been crowned, Adam Levine is returning as a Coach for a milestone season of NBC’s singing competition.
That’s right, the Maroon 5 frontman will serve as a Coach for The Voice Season 30, premiering in fall 2026 on NBC, marking his 19th season on the show. The rest of the Coaches lineup has not yet been announced, but Levine will surely be joined by fellow music titans in the industry.
Levine first joined The Voice back in Season 1, alongside Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera. He not only holds the title of an OG Coach, but Levine also won the very first season of The Voice with Javier Colon, who he reunited with for the All-Star Showdown on The Voice Season 29.
Levine ended The Voice Season 29 with a bang, winning the whole thing with Alexia Jayy. “I’d say I can’t believe it, but I can. There’s no one more deserving of this honor,” Levine said right after the voting results were revealed.

Levine served as a Coach on The Voice for 16 consecutive seasons before taking a five-year hiatus to spend time with his family. He made his long-awaited return as a Coach for Season 27 with Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, and Michael Bublé. Most recently, Levine served as a Coach on The Voice Season 29 with fellow veteran champs Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.
Through his many years on The Voice, Levine told NBC Insider the show now runs like a well-oiled machine after a “kind of crazy” start.
“It used to just be kind of crazy. We were like the [Rolling] Stones or something. It was like chaos. CeeLo had a bird. We were like a punk rock band. It was wild thinking back on it; it was so out of control,” Levine recalled in a 2025 interview, adding that the “general tone and the efficiency of the show” has “has gotten so pleasant.”
“It’s just gotten so different, in a good way, and efficient, and kind of mellow,” he said. “As boring as that may sound, it’s actually really wonderful. And I’m so proud.”

In a behind-the-scenes video for The Voice ahead of his Season 27 return, Levine reminisced about his past tactics to get Artists to join his team. “I used to get up on my chair!” he said before adding with a laugh, “Wow, sounds exhausting. I’m so crazy. So thirsty! What is wrong with me?”
While Levine didn’t stand on top of red chair throughout The Voice Season 29, he did do a somersault on stage after scoring a country singer on his team and served up his “explosive” history with Blake Shelton, offering to “pester him on a daily basis” to secure an Artist. Hey, whatever it takes!
