Kevin Hart’s pitch-perfect performance as someone desperately trying to convince zombie slayers he hasn’t been bitten made for a very funny Saturday Night Live parody of The Walking Dead.
The SNL sketch in question, “The Walking Dead: Black or Zombie?,” stars Season 38 cast members Taran Killam, Bill Hader, Nasim Pedrad, and Kate McKinnon as Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors from the original Walking Dead series.
The squad encounter Hart, who they suspect is a zombie. Before he can deny it, Hart quickly gets bitten by a “walker” — but every time he exhibits zombie-like behavior, he quickly explains it away by continuously citing stereotypes about Black culture, confusing Grimes and the gang.
“You’re one of them,” Killam says as the group aims their weapons at Hart after hearing a menacing growl.
“Excuse me? One of them?” Hart says. “Oh my God, this is so racist right now!”

“Oh no, we’re not racist, we just thought you were turning into a zombie,” Killam insists.
“Okay, I see how it is,” Hart shoots back. “So when someone comes from a different cultural background than you, they’re automatically a zombie?”
Wanting to seem tolerant, the group accepts Hart into their crew.

It doesn’t matter when he starts limping like a zombie (“Okay, you ain’t never seen a classic pimp walk before? It’s called swag, son!”) or when Hart eats their friend, Maggie: There is a deep well of stereotypes he can draw from. So the group overlooks the obvious evidence, as long as Hart doesn’t see them as racist.
They even brush off Hart busting out some “Thriller” dance moves, as he says it’s “a very special dance for African Americans.”
Not even Hart’s foot falling off is enough to convince the crew that they’re dealing with the living dead:
“Diabetes,” Hart explains.

Inevitably, Hart eventually turns into a zombie and attacks the group, only to be unceremoniously shot.
“I knew we weren’t racist,” Killam’s Grimes happily says.

Johnny Depp has always operated as a cinematic rebel, resisting the traditional path to blockbuster stardom that many of his peers embraced in the 1980s. Following his early appearances in high-profile projects like Platoon, he deliberately turned toward the fringes of the industry. Instead of chasing a conventional leading-man status, he chose to headline John…
It is a rare and likely humbling experience for an actor to be cast in a major production, only to have the role reclaimed by a performer who had already passed away. For Anthony Hopkins, this unusual circumstance occurred during the tumultuous development of the Superman franchise in the early 2000s. Like many of his…
