This Saturday (May 16, 2026) marks exactly 13 years since the final episode of The Office aired, putting an exclamation point on one of the most beloved comedies of all time.
For nine unforgettable seasons of the mockumentary sitcom, a faux documentary crew followed the fictional employees of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company (for better or worse) — from Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) to Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson). And fans fell in love with the show’s zany but relatable characters.

The super-sized series finale, consisting of two episodes, gave closure to many of the show’s beloved characters. And now, we’re getting nostalgic looking back at some of the most lasting images from the finale that originally aired on May 16, 2013.

Dwight Schrute and Angela Martin get married
The series finale of The Office revolved around an event that, at times, seemed like it would never happen: the wedding of Dwight and Angela (Angela Kinsey).
Despite the couple’s many ups and downs — they endured everything from being beholden to a sex contract to Angela dating a senator (sorry, STATE senator) to dealing with the possibility that Angela’s monster baby was Dwight’s all along — the characters got the ending they deserved.

This above photo says it all. Dwight and Angela shared a bond that ultimately couldn’t be broken, and the two were rewarded with the wedding of their dreams — one that took place on Dwight’s infamous beet farm, of course.

Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly make a move
Although the final season showed some serious marital differences between Jim Halpert (John Krasinksi) and Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer), by the time the series finale rolled around, the two characters were preparing to start a new post-Dunder Mifflin life in Austin, Texas, with their family.

Jim tricks Dwight into visiting Kevin’s bar
The Office was always a genuine ensemble comedy at heart, and this photo of the cast at a bar shows the collaborative effort by everyone involved in the show.
The crew ultimately ended up at Kevin’s (Brian Baumgartner) bar after Jim pranked Dwight into visiting at the end of a bachelor party scavenger hunt. Jim’s goal was to get Dwight and Kevin talking again after Dwight fired Kevin for being a terrible accountant. His plan worked, with Dwight apologizing and admitting he misses his friend.

Michael Scott surprises Dwight by coming to his wedding
Despite not appearing in any episodes of Season 8 of The Office, and no regular Season 9 episodes, Carrell brought back his iconic Michael Scott character for the series finale, surprising Dwight — and fans — by attending the wedding as best man, and even delivering one final, wild “That’s what she said” joke for good measure.
