North West’s latest TikTok makeover has pushed her self-expression back into the spotlight, with one striking detail drawing more attention than the rest of her dramatic look.
The 13-year-old, who often experiments with bold beauty choices, appeared in a video sporting a colorful wig and dark makeup.
However, a new piercing sparked fresh concern online, turning a fashion reveal into another flashpoint for her increasingly daring style.
North West’s Neck Piercing Steals The Spotlight From Her Makeover
North West shared the clip on TikTok on Monday, presenting a head-to-toe transformation that leaned into a gothic aesthetic.
Her look included long black artificial nails, blackened teeth, bright blue hair, and heavy eye makeup.
As she moved the camera to show off the details, she mouthed along to Hoobastank’s “The Reason.”
The piercing, however, became the focal point. Set in the middle of her neck, it stood out from the rest of her accessories and beauty choices, prompting viewers to question whether the teenager’s latest experiment had gone too far.
North’s Look Draws Criticism From Some TikTok Users

In no time, TikTok users flooded the comments with harsh criticism of her appearance.
One commenter linked her look to her Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s separation, writing, “This is how much a divorce can affect a child.”
Another suggested North West was embracing too much darkness for her age, telling her, “I love you and hope u see this comment but I think for your age you’re going into too much darkness you are beautiful you don’t need that darkness be a bright beautiful queen you are.”
Another TikTok user compared North to Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, writing, “Take inspiration from Beyoncé’s child; she is well-behaved.”
A separate commenter also questioned her age and appearance, saying, “How does she look like she’s in her 20s? I’m 17 and she looks way older than me.”
North West’s TikTok Look Also Wins Fans Who Defend Her Style

Despite the criticism, other viewers praised North’s piercings and pushed back against the negative reactions.
One fan admitted, “I love the random piercings she has; they look cool on her. It makes me jealous.” Another questioned why people were attacking her for her appearance, writing, “I don’t understand the hate on her she’s expressing herself why do people care so damn much?”
Some fans went beyond defending North’s choices and enthusiastically suggested more piercings.
“YOU SHOULD GET AN ANTI EYEBROW PIERCING PLEASE ON YOUR RIGHT SIDE IT WOULD BE SOOOOOOOO CUTE OMG,” one user wrote.
Another connected with her style on a personal level, saying, “I don’t get people hating on her? She’s literally everything I wanted to be when I was 13 lmao.”

North’s ComplexCon Grills And Faux Piercings Draw Attention

The neck-piercing TikTok look isn’t the only time North West’s accessories have attracted notice in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, The Blast reported that North attended ComplexCon’s tenth anniversary at the Los Angeles Convention Center with her father and stepmother, Bianca Censori.
North wore bright blue hair, metal grills and fake piercings. Censori appeared in a tightly fastened PVC trench coat and knee-high boots, while Kanye wore leather.

Kim Kardashian Says North West’s Bold Style Comes With Rules

Although North’s fashion choices have attracted public scrutiny, Kardashian has said her daughter’s self-expression exists alongside parental limits.
In an October chat with The Sunday Times, the socialite opened up about North’s appetite for fame and public-facing projects.
“My little ones come around when I’m filming, but they don’t really do storylines,” Kardashian said, adding, “North loves it a little bit more than the rest. I hold her back.”
The mom of four explained that the 13-year-old wanted to pursue projects in front of an audience, but the family tried to “savor those moments” and avoid accepting every opportunity.
Kardashian also said she and Kanye often communicated better about North’s music and made sure they were “aligned” on projects they approved.
