Davis spoke about her dynamic with “Sex and the City” on October 15 during an episode of her “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast with former costar Evan Handler. “I also had my own journey with Pat that was rough in the beginning because she did not like my body,” Davis said, adding, “I think it’s fine now.”
She described Field as someone with no “filter.” “She just says stuff. Whatever is on her mind, she says,” Davis recalled. Davis clashed with Field about her body. “Everything was straight, like straight,” she said. She also said she has never been straight and no amount of dieting changed that.
She shared that she was on a diet during filming, eating mostly M&M’s. She recalled that she was just “bones” with “no breasts” left because of the diet. Davis claimed that the 58-year-old designer “was like, ‘Great.”
On the Podcast, Davis said things only eased up once Charlotte’s storyline settled into her marriage to Harry, played by Evan Handler. “I think she had to surrender that I was just going to be curvy,” Davis said.

The 61-year-old spoke about her body image struggles back in 2023, in her cover story for “Haute Living.” She revealed that she started working at 30 on “Melrose Place.” The “And Just Like That” star actress was surrounded by what she called “stick-skinny women with blond hair and blue eyes.”
She shared that it was stressful from the start. The shaming reportedly continued once she got the role as Charlotte. In the tabloids, she said she was called “pear-shaped,” while Parker was called “skinny.”
She shared a painful memory involving a bodega cashier who refused to sell her M&M’s, pointing at her hips. “I cried all the way home,” she said. Davis has said she doesn’t have the same thick skin as costar Cynthia Nixon. Kristin Davis Faced Backlash Over Filler In 2023
The Hollywood actress reportedly dealt with public criticism over cosmetic work. She told The Telegraph she has been “ridiculed relentlessly” online. She said the internet judged her for looking older and then judged her for trying not to.
She was open about trying both Botox and filler and admitted that some attempts went bad and that she had to get them dissolved. “I have shed tears about it. It’s very stressful,” she shared.
Davis said that the internet is “conflicted.” The actress, who was 58 years old at the time, said that people tend to blame the patient rather than the doctor when a procedure doesn’t go well.

In 2025, Davis talked about feeling pushed into a topless scene in Season 5. She said that she wasn’t initially comfortable with it, and she discussed it with writer Jenny Bicks on the same podcast.
The Blast reported that showrunner Michael Patrick [King] convinced her to film it. The scene was reportedly filmed in a crowded public restaurant. “Michael Patrick forced me to do it,” she said. “He kept telling me, ‘It’ll be fine. It’ll be great.”
The actress had a separate nude scene in Season 6. Her character, Charlotte, enters a mikveh bath during her conversion to Judaism. Davis revealed the scene was meaningful to her but was difficult to film. In her words:
“Because it wasn’t sexual, it’s much easier to have some nudity in a non-sexual way in a spiritual way.”
She shared that she was frustrated by crew members smoking cigars in her eyeline during the shoot. “They can’t smoke cigars literally in my eyeline,” she added. The star actress was proud of the mikveh moment despite the tension on set.

Davis opened up on her “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast about a surprising reason she did not break up with Baldwin. The “Sex and the City” actress admitted it was not just his personality that kept her around. “One of the best things about Alec Baldwin when I dated him was that he had the most incredible house in Amagansett,” Davis shared.
Davis recalled telling Sarah Jessica Parker, “I don’t know if it’s going to work out with Alec and I, but I just really love that house.” She acknowledged how funny the situation was looking back and how awkward it felt to admit it publicly. “It’s so embarrassing to say that out loud, but it’s true,” Davis said.
