Ela Langley is a pretty strong and straightforward woman who has learned to deal with the haters. Yet, she was likely not prepared to deal with a collaborator jumping in and claiming her success for themselves. Such was the case with “typical” Riley Green, who did just that on a recent episode of The Voice. So, how did he go about this, and how did Ella respond? Keep reading for more details.
Ella Langley Is Not Holding Back
It is normal to associate Ella Langley with Riley Green. They collaborated on two songs, “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do.” Additionally, there were rumors that they were romantically involved, given their incredible chemistry. They have denied that there was anything more than a friendship, but that is likely over. Riley is a coach on The Voice, and he is doing quite well. Viewers appreciate him, and he has developed a bromance with OG coach Adam Levine.
However, he just said something out of pocket, and that may be a problem for him and whatever he and Ella had. He was talking to Ferryn & Brinkley, a sister duo on The Voice. As an attempt to get them on his team, he used Ella Langley as a lure:
“There was a girl that reminded me a lot of y’all. I took her on tour with me, her name’s Ella Langley. She’s doing pretty well.”
It was clear he was trying to show them that he made Ella who she is today, but that did not sit well with her followers. Yes, they collaborated, but her voice is a huge selling point. During an Instagram Live, this situation was brought up to Ella by a fan. They asked the country superstar this:
“When Riley took credit for your success on The Voice, did that rub you the wrong way?!”
Ella Langley immediately responded and noted that it was “typical.” It is unclear if she meant Riley Green or men in general, but she stated:
“Yeah, when that man took credit? No, didn’t love that, but typical. Typical. Pretty typical.”

Riley Green Is Trying
Ella Langley does not appear to want anything to do with Riley Green after what he said. However, he would be down for another collab. Some who heard what Riley said felt that he was being fair and did take Ella on tour with him. She was his supporting act; he was the bigger star, and she should be grateful. However, others believed that his ego was far too big and he needed to stop before he spoke:
- She is very humble. She was also a supporting act for Morgan Wallen in 2024 and 2025 who is a MUCH bigger star than Riley Green. She was going to be a star with or without him. The fact is, she made him bigger, not the other way around.
