General Hospital finds Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) brought into the hospital this week after they were brutally beaten in Pentonville by thugs hired by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). And it looks like one of these two attack victims may not make it because in the weekly promo, Curtis or Sidwell is dying.

General Hospital: Curtis Helps Sidwell

All right, so last week we saw that inmate warned Curtis. They told him, “Find a reason not to be in your cell after lunch.” And that was because the guy was helping attack Sidwell on Sonny’s orders and didn’t want witnesses or anything else. So Curtis went ahead and gave Sidwell a heads up and Curtis said go to the warden, ask for protection. But Sidwell refused and instead he actually wanted to pay Curtis. We saw Sidwell asked him to be his bodyguard.

But of course Curtis refused to protect him. So, when the guys came in and were beating on Sidwell, eventually Curtis showed up and he finally intervened, but only when one of the inmates pulled out a knife to stab Sidwell. That’s when Curtis said, “Okay, that’s enough.” But then unfortunately defending Sidwell got Curtis also attacked. And now we have both Sidwell and Curtis in General Hospital in bad shape getting medical treatment.

Sonny Top Suspect on GH

And of course, Sonny’s in the hot seat and he’s already a suspect right away when Sidwell told Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), “You know who did it?” He suspected his father was behind the attack. And then Curtis confirmed it because 1 of the attacking inmates that was beating him and said, “Well, name dropped Sonny.” So, they’re going to do interviews at Pentonville. Dante’s supposed to go over there.

But even if the bad guys deny saying it, I mean, come on. Curtis is a very credible witness aside from assaulting Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) and landing in prison. If Sonny finds out the guy name dropped him, you know, he can’t even send a message and have that inmate taken out for blabbing to Curtis because that would put even more attention and heat on Sonny.

Then later this week, Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) is confronting Sonny. And Justine wants Sonny to tell her right to her face that he was not behind Sidwell’s attack. And of course, Sonny may try to lie and deny, but Justine isn’t going to believe him. I don’t even know why she’s asking. I mean, how could she? Even Sonny’s own son, Dante, knows that he did it.

General Hospital: Justine Leaves Sonny

And official General Hospital spoilers tell us Sonny is crushed this week. So, I’m almost certain that Justine ends their secret relationship and then Sonny’s going to be heartbroken and probably angry and want to blame Sidwell instead of taking accountability because he usually doesn’t admit his own sins. Sonny told Justine he was done with mob life and then he goes and does this very mob boss thing. Right now, Sidwell looks to be in worse shape than Curtis. But that makes sense because he was the real target.

However, that doesn’t mean Curtis is in the clear. So, at the end of Monday’s episode, Sidwell flatlined and they called a code blue and then Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) and Isaiah Gannon started fighting to save Sidwell’s life. I’m sure they’ll get him stabilized. But there is a lot of trauma. And it looks like one or both of Sidwell and Curtis may not survive because in the promo, somebody at General Hospital says they may not make it. I don’t think they mean they plural. But it’s just unclear whether it’s Sidwell or Curtis that they are talking about. And with Sidwell in the ICU, he seems the most obvious as the one who might die. But there are red flags for Curtis, too.

Curtis Still Not Out of the Woods on GH

I’m seeing signs that make me think that there’s a chance Curtis won’t survive the brutal beating. He’s got broken ribs and bruises and lacerations. And Dr. Gannon said he needs to run an MRI and some other scans on Curtis to make sure there’s no internal bleeding. But a lot of times on General Hospital when they say somebody’s doing better, that doesn’t mean they’re going to survive. Remember Nathan West (Ryan Paevey)? He was shot by Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). He came out of surgery, he seemed fine, and then he just abruptly died. That’s pretty common. So, Curtis may well turn up with internal bleeding.

Now I do think Sidwell is the likelier person to die, especially since he’s a ruthless villain. But Curtis has had close calls before. Remember last time he had a medical crisis. He was shot on the roof of the Metro Court Hotel. It was a ricochet bullet. Everybody thought it was meant for Sonny. And Curtis almost died. He wound up paralyzed. But then he got miracle surgery and learned to walk again. But now Curtis may not be in that bad a shape. Another red flag for me thinking he’s going to survive is that Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard) is talking to him this week. That’s Jordan Ashford‘s (Tanisha Harper) estranged legal shark of a sister. And Monet is looking to take on Curtis as a client.

General Hospital: Monet Pushes Curtis

So, Monet may suggest she can use this to get Curtis out of prison early and or sue Sonny for damages for Curtis being injured in an attack that Sonny set up. Monet seems to think Curtis needs her expertise. But I’m sure Jordan isn’t going to like it and that’s why Monet is targeting him. But in the end, I suspect Curtis will survive primarily because he is a front burner character with a new son.

He’s been around a long time. I don’t see General Hospital getting rid of Donnell Turner. But I have heard some rumors maybe. We’ll see. Sidwell, on the other hand, makes a lot of sense for him to kick the bucket. He’s a bad guy. Plus, we have a reliable behind-the-scenes source that told us a while back Sidwell would be beaten in prison and transferred to General Hospital.

Sidwell May Escape from GH

And from there, the leak said Sidwell would escape. But, of course, it’s easier to escape from a hospital than a prison. So part of the leak has already gone from rumored to spoilers since we saw it manifest when Sidwell was attacked and taken to the hospital. The leak also said Curtis would be collateral damage.

So, it’s so far so good on the leak accuracy. This is the same leaker who told us Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) killed Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and some other solid stuff. So right now we’ve got Sidwell being treated for these serious injuries. He is in really bad shape, looks to be at death’s door and I think they’re going to get him stabilized though and from there you can’t really count him out. We heard from our source that Sidwell escapes from General Hospital as I said and we’ve also heard through official spoilers that Carlo Rota’s arc would wrap this fall and we are officially in fall.

General Hospital: Sidwell Dead Soon?

So, it’s definitely possible Sidwell could die maybe or he escapes from General Hospital and dies in the escape attempt. On the other hand, there’s a chance Sidwell might fake his own death while he’s in General Hospital, especially if he can reach out to one of his former contacts to help him. Remember, Sidwell had access to all kinds of drugs, like the paralytic he gave Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) to use on Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

So, Sidwell might have access to something that could help him fake his death. I kind of don’t think either of them will die if I’m being real. I expect Curtis may have a life or death scare and survives and Sidwell fakes his death or escape so he can always come back later to terrorize Port Charles because General Hospital loves villains and Sidwell is an excellent villain. So, I’m not sure he’ll actually be killed off and he may live to terrorize Port Charles another day.
