Martha Stewart has encountered a number of famous figures throughout her career, from TV stars to athletes. Recently, Stewart reunited with a certain basketball star. During the encounter, she confronted him about a past personal injury.
Martha Stewart Shared That The Incident Took Place Last May During A Recent Podcast
Stewart is a retail businesswoman, media personality, and lifestyle guru. She is the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and fans have seen her name attached to multiple media.
This includes the magazine, Martha Stewart Living, the television program of the same name, and The Martha Stewart Show. She was also recently the subject of the 2024 Netflix documentary, Martha.
Throughout her career, Stewart has met all sorts of celebrities and has made multiple media appearances. Recently, she sat with Jalen Brunson on his podcast series, Roommates Show, which he co-hosts with his teammate, Josh Hart. During the appearance, Stewart confronted the athlete about a past grievance.
Reportedly, Stewart was sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden this past May. Things took a turn for her when Brunson, as point guard for the New York Knicks, crashed into Stewart, who was wearing open-toe sandals. The encounter left Stewart in pain with a broken toe.
Stewart Also Shared What She Had Learned From The Experience
Nearly a year later, Stewart told Brunson on his show, “You jumped up really fast. And I remember saying to you, ‘It’s okay.’ You had no idea that you had hurt me. I didn’t say you hurt me, but I said, ‘It’s okay.’ It wasn’t okay at all.”
Stewart claimed that, after the game, she immediately went to the Hospital for Special Surgery on Manhattan’s Upper East Side to check things out. She explained, “They’ve named it the ‘Stewart-Brunson fracture.’ I have an X-ray, I’m going to leave you a picture of it… It was actually a break, so anyways, it’s better now… It took one year to heal.”
For his part, the NBA star was apologetic but did not seem to remember the moment. However, he claimed that his dad FaceTimed him to virtually apologize to Stewart. He also sent her a basketball, which she gave to her grandson.
Ultimately, there didn’t seem to be any bad blood between Brunson and Stewart. The latter claimed that she took what happened as a learning experience. She shared, “It’s my fault for wearing open-toe shoes to a basketball game. I look back at it as just something silly, stupid, and funny. It was stupid of me.”
