John Stamos isn’t afraid to speak up when it comes to defending his Full House co-stars or promoting his upcoming projects. The actor recently debuted a shocking new look ahead of joining Season 2 of Netflix’s The Hunting Wives. But he usually keeps things light and fluffy.
John Stamos faced backlash last year after attending a charity event at Mar-a-Lago. That was pretty much the only time the actor referenced anything political. He made it clear that he attended the event to raise money for the specific cause and it had nothing to do with his political affiliation. Like many Hollywood stars, John Stamos keeps his political beliefs to himself.
But in a rare public political statement, he could no longer stay silent about the “cruel” things happening in the United States. Another U.S. citizen was killed during an incident with Border Patrol in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Saturday, January 24. The shocking incident came two weeks after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good. Both incidents are still under investigation.
John Stamos took to social media to share a handwritten message about Alex Pretti’s death. “I usually stay out of politics. This doesn’t feel like that. What I’m seeing from ICE feels cruel,” he wrote.
The note continued, “I don’t need it explained away or reframed. I trust my own eyes!” John Stamos said that he refuses calls to stay in his own lane, noting that what’s going on in the U.S. is everyone’s lane.
The Full House star wrote, “This doesn’t feel right, and staying quiet feels worse. Lately it feels like the bad guys are winning. Maybe the least we can do is not look away. -J.S.”
