General Hospital finally reveals who shot Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), and it’s been Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) Cain all along. Now, the big question is, will she get away with it. The soapiest outcome is if Drew Cain Quartermaine’s little wifey gets away with shooting him.

And right now, it seems pretty likely that’s the way it’s going to go. We’re going to talk about what happens after the trial, assuming Willow Tait is found not guilty of putting two bullets in Drew’s back. She may walk away scot-free and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) may be in trouble.

The Shocking General Hospital Flashbacks and Willow’s Premeditated Plan

So, thanks to some very important flashbacks, we know Willow tried to kill Drew, which a lot of fans suspected all this time. And I mean, honestly, for me, good for Willow for realizing he ruined her life and for getting the gun and shooting Drew. It’s just too bad that she botched the job.

So, now we finally know how it went down that night. We saw Willow glove up and take the gun from Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) collection at the Quartermaine Mansion. And when DA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) asked about it, Willow truthfully said she had never touched the gun. Her gloves did, but her hands didn’t. So, you know, technically not a lie.

Later, she drove to Drew’s house and viciously shot him up close and personal two times because he caused Willow to lose her kids. I guess that’s one bullet per kid. Not only was it attempted murder, but it was premeditated. It wasn’t done in the heat of the moment. Willow planned and plotted to kill Drew. And that’s what she intended to happen. But, you know, good doctors at General Hospital, and he’s still with us.

The Twinkle Ringtone: How Trina and Kai Uncovered the Truth On GH

Recently, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) assumed Michael was the shooter because they thought Twinkle was his special ringtone for Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Viron Weaver). And then Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) had Wiley call Michael, and Kai and Trina heard that very different custom ringtone.

But then they heard the Twinkle ringtone, the same one they heard the night Drew was shot, coming from Willow’s phone when Wiley called her. So that had Kai and Trina concluding that Willow was the real shooter, not Michael. And let’s be real, Kai and Trina don’t actually care that Drew got shot. I don’t think pretty much nobody but Drew cares that Drew got shot.

But they also don’t want Michael to go down for it if he didn’t do it. And now we know he didn’t. I’ve been saying all along I didn’t think Michael did it. So Trina and Kai assumed that Willow’s ringtone proves her guilt. They’re theorizing, though, without hard evidence that they can show the cops, but the audience knows for sure thanks to those flashbacks from Willow that she is 100% the shooter.

Legal Maneuvers and Alexis Davis’s Strategy

But think about this. You know, Drew didn’t react to Willow’s ringtone as they left court. And in the past, Drew mentioned that his ringtone for Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) is also Twinkle Twinkle. Same one Willow has for Wiley.

And Kai already knew it was Drew’s ringtone for Scout because he works for him. They mentioned it back in October. But we also know Drew didn’t get a call. So, maybe he’s going to remember the ringtone. He didn’t remember it leaving court. At least it didn’t trigger a memory.

So, I suspect Kai may go to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) with this info. The problem is Kai and Trina were in Drew’s house, which nobody else knows. That makes them look like possible suspects. So, that’s why I expect that Kai may go to Alexis and not Justine or the cops.

We know from the weekly promo, somebody’s at Alexis’s law office and she’s surprised to see them. It may be Kai, even without Trina, and he tells her he has information but can’t take it to the court or the cops. And if he tells her about the ringtone, Alexis may say, “Okay, thanks. I’ll take it from here. Leave it with me.”

The Verdict and the Shield of Double Jeopardy on General Hospital

In court, both sides have rested their case, and it’s time for closing arguments, deliberations, and the verdict. If Justine gets the info from Kai and Trina empowered, she might be able to submit it to reopen her side of the case. Judges don’t always allow that, but I don’t think they’re going to go to her because it makes them look bad.

And by the way, in our legal system, Alexis absolutely can withhold that type of info that makes her client look guilty. The rare exception would be if she was given something like the murder weapon or a bloody glove. But in this case, since it’s basically hearsay from Kai and Trina, who have hidden that they were present at the crime scene at the time of the shooting, Alexis can absolutely sit on it and protect her client.

I do expect a not guilty verdict because, as I said, that’s the soapiest outcome. And if so, that means Willow gets away with attempted murder. Alexis is a great lawyer and they only have circumstantial evidence against Willow. And then Justine tried to break her on the stand and she did great up there giving testimony. I thought it was very sympathetic.

Post-Trial Fallout: Drew’s Memory and Willow’s True Nature on GH

But since both sides have rested and Kai and Trina don’t want to get arrested for concealing their presence at the shooting, I don’t think the ringtone is going to come into play in the case. We’ll see. Plus, Alexis is desperate to win the case or she will lose access to Scout. So there’s no way that Alexis would bring it up in court, even if Kai tells her. But I’m sure it’ll come out after the fact, especially if Willow’s exonerated.

So, let’s talk about fallout after what could be coming, which is a not guilty verdict. First of all, Kai may go to Drew and tell him that he heard Willow’s ringtone right after he was shot. Kai may admit to Drew, “Look, I was at the house doing some things for you and Trina was with me and then we heard the gunshot and we heard the ringtone and we panicked and didn’t tell the police.”

We also know Drew has a memory he’s about to recover and he may recall Willow saying something after she shot him, something we haven’t seen yet, like, “You cost me my kids, so I hate you. Burn in hell.” You know, something like that. Once Drew realizes he’s married to the woman who shot him, it’s going to get wild.

Drew Faces the Ugly Truth on General Hospital

Drew can’t even threaten to have Willow arrested because she can’t be charged with it. If she’s found not guilty at trial of shooting Drew, that’s it. It’s over. Willow could scream in the street that she shot Drew and face no consequences because she can’t be charged with the same crime again. That’s double jeopardy. It’s against the Constitution.

So, Willow would be free and Drew would know that the woman he loves hates him so much she tried to kill him. It’s pretty much a kick from karma right in his family jewels. Based on a recent 2026 spoiler, Michael may be under investigation for Drew’s shooting soon because a new spoiler for this winter says Justine investigates someone Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) loves.

That fits with Michael turning into a suspect. And Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) may be forced to oversee an investigation into his brother Michael. And that’s exactly what Willow was hoping to get. She wanted Drew dead and she wanted to frame Michael so he would go down for the murder and then Willow would get sole custody of her kids. She wouldn’t have to deal with Drew.

General Hospital: Is Willow Just Like Nelle?

And in the end, Willow really is just as bad as Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). Whatever polluted gene pool, you know, that she is in. And we know it’s bad because her awful mom, Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills), is a killer. Those genes have been passed straight down to Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) twins. Both Nelle and Willow are just terrible, terrible, terrible.

So, wait to see the verdict. But I honestly would not be surprised at all if Willow gets away with trying to kill her husband. And I cannot wait to see the look on Drew’s face when he finds out Willow put two bullets in his back and absolutely despises him. She may dump Drew immediately after the verdict. So, we’ll see how it goes.
