Days of our Lives gives a huge shocker coming that leaves Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), and the rest of the family stunned. It’s the identity of the bones found in the family crypt, buried beneath the floor. It’s going to be an absolute shocker.
This week, Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) was tossed in with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Kristen, and Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis). EJ joins them soon. And that means the family reunion is almost complete.
But when they’re rescued, the bones they found are going to go with them. And they are identified. That outcome is going to be a jaw-dropper. Let’s get into who’s dead and buried—not in a crypt in the mausoleum but hidden under the floor.
A Desperate DiMera Family Trapped in the Crypt on Days of Our Lives
The Crypt crew—Tony, Kristen, and Chad—discussed that there was no way out of the family mausoleum. They were all prepared to watch the door and make a break for it, but they missed their chance when Theo was drugged and tossed in. He’s got no idea who took him or how he got there.
The culprit took Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) son in broad daylight. EJ is going to be joining them soon. And maybe together they can figure out how to escape the creepy tomb. Or more likely, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) are going to rescue the captives. And maybe psychic Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) gives them a clue on where to search.
Meanwhile, the DiMera heirs are wondering about the human remains they find. Kristen was trying to dig her way to freedom, but she cut her hand and gave up on it after Tony bandaged her hand with his shirt. But with Chad and Theo joining the party, their desperation is growing, so the digging is going to resume.
Unmasking the Kidnapper: Is Peter Blake Behind the DiMera Abduction on DOOL?
Not only are Kristen, Chad, Tony, and Theo intent on escaping, but they want to know who took them and why. Our leaker told us weeks ago it was Peter Blake (Jason Brooks). That was even before his return was confirmed in the winter promo. So good on our leaker. That makes me happy. Because it tells me again they’re very reliable. Tony said he thought Theo was behind their kidnappings, but then he thought about it some more and realized that wasn’t really his nephew’s style.
Meanwhile, Kristen’s thinking their brother EJ may have them all there while he’s staging a coup to take over DiMera Enterprises. But Chad defended EJ and said no. Chad said there’s no way EJ would kidnap them because he’s representing Chad in the custody case for Thomas DiMera (Christopher Cary) and Charlotte DiMera (Olivia & Oakley Rondou). Chad knows that EJ can play dirty, but he knows he wouldn’t play him dirty like that when his kids are at stake. Plus, any suspicions about EJ are going to evaporate when he joins them in the mausoleum this week.
Salem PD on High Alert as Rafe and Jada Investigate
The good thing is Jada went on high alert when Theo didn’t show up for their date, especially when she knew that he had just been chatting with Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) at the pub. He stepped out to take a call from his dad, Abe, who then relayed the info that he was on the phone and the call abruptly dropped.
Now we’ve got FBI agent Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) on the case. He’s looking into Chad’s disappearance. And now they’ve got Theo as another case to be working. Top cop Jada has the Salem PD on high alert to find Theo and Chad. They’re curious about Tony’s whereabouts as well. They’re not really looking for Kristen because they assume that she’s on the lam after escaping Statesville, but they are very concerned with primarily finding Chad and Theo, but possibly Tony as well.
The Shocking Discovery on Days of Our Lives: Whose Bones Are Buried Beneath the Floor?
I suspect that the crypt crew isn’t going to sit around and wait for a rescue. And they may resume digging soon. That means they come across the set of bones that are not neatly laid to rest in one of the crypt slots. These bones are hidden away like what you would do to a secret murder victim. Once they find them, Theo looks at them and says, “These are human bones.” But whose earthly remains are they? That’s the big question. We see a lot of DiMera names on all the crypt spots in the mausoleum, but these bones are definitely not in one of the marked graves.
We also know from the winter promo that Rafe takes the bones to the FBI lab, gets a positive ID. And comes back over to the DiMera mansion to tell the family on Days of our Lives. EJ and Kristen are there when Rafe drops the bombshell. That same scene shows Kristen sobbing and talking about how there’s too much death surrounding the DiMeras.
However, I have to just give a little caveat that the crying scene could be Kristen crying over something else and it’s cleverly cut into the edit where Rafe is saying they have an ID on the bones. I do think the Kristen crying scene actually is from the reveal. But if it was a clever edit, it’s to make viewers think the dead person is someone that means a lot to Kristen.
Could the Remains Belong to Stefano DiMera on Days?
As I said, our leaker told us Peter is the kidnapper. So, then we have to wonder if Peter put the bones in the mausoleum for his captives to find. Maybe it’s a scare tactic or a clue to something coming for the DiMera heirs. I kind of think the bones and Peter are not involved together. Here’s what I wonder: Are those bones the ones that belong to their late father, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo)? His body was never found after he passed away many years ago. I’m wondering if somebody secretly buried the Phoenix’s body in the floor of the DiMera mausoleum.
That would explain Kristen’s very strong reaction. She and her adoptive dad Stefano were very close. And it would be very upsetting for Tony, Kristen, EJ, and Chad to learn that Stefano wound up in an unmarked grave. But then again, maybe it was done at the request of the Phoenix. Maybe he told Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) to hide his bones there after harvesting DNA to make the Stefano 2.0 project. Maybe it’s to make certain that Stefano’s body would never be found and his legend as the Phoenix would live on forever.
A Final Twist: Are the Bones Abigail Deveraux’s on DOOL?
Another possibility is those bones belong to Abigail Deveraux (AnnaLynne McCord). Of course, Kristen would be super sad for Chad and his kids. If you remember, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Chad exhumed Abby’s grave back when Cat Greene was pretending to be dear Abby. And they were shocked. Because the grave was empty. Chad’s been determined to find Abby’s remains so he can lay her to rest, but the only person who knows is Clyde Weston (James Read). But then Cat’s mom, Catharina Meleounis (Ellie Patrikios), shot Clyde and he’s been in a coma since then.
It could be that they’re Abby’s remains. Because Clyde decided to hide them right under Chad’s nose as part of his twisted game. Maybe he thought it’d be ironic to put them there. We’ll find out within the next couple of weeks who it is. We also know the bones don’t belong to the mystery person in the big test tube because they’re in some kind of stasis with Dr. Rolf’s sci-fi life support system until he can reanimate them.
