The George Lucas Talks Show has been running for ten years, with comedian/Dead Eyes podcast host Conner Ratliff as George Lucas and Blank Check’s Griffin Newman as prequel problematic fave Watto. They and producer Patrick Cotnoir have been putting this show irl and on livestream, interviewing folks like Seth Meyers, Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalmenti, and Bob Odenkirk’s in first post-heart attack appearance. And, of course, Arli$$’s own Robert Wuhl. Rachel Zegler called in from the Oscars in 2022, and it was the craziest thing to happen that night.
The documentary premiered at Slamdance in 2024, and now Kino Lorber is putting out a Blu-ray just crammed with bonus features and audio commentaries. Commentators include RiffTrax’s Bill Corbett, My Brother My Brother and Me’s Travis McElroy, Mad Men’s Rich Sommer, and Tinder Live host Lane Moore. Meanwhile the commentaries sound designer Ben Burtt did for the original Star Wars trilogy molder in the Disney vault. Sad!
